International Internship Guidelines

Procedures involved in the internship carried out outside Brazil

In order to include international student mobility in the academic record and guarantee the support and link between the institution and the student, this must register for the General Public Notice of Continuous Flow, even if the internship to be carried out is the Mandatory Internship.

Previously, sign the documents required by the Internship Center: Term of Commitment (TC), Internship Plan (PE) and upon return, the Report. The EI together with the General Coordination of Internships/PROGRAD changed the model of the Term of Commitment, making it more simplified.

Likewise, the TC should only be used in the English version so that the foreign institution can analyze and sign it. When this document returns to be incorporated into the mobility process, a Portuguese version will be attached and certified by the EI as the translation of the English version.

EI will add to the dispatches the need for evaluation by the internship coordinator to the student's plan when planning for internships exists.

If there is any difficulty in signing the commitment/plan term by the foreign institution, the same procedures described below can be applied:

  • Borderless Science Program (CsF)

The student who does an internship through this program must be aware that the completion of the mandatory curricular internship must comply with the prerequisites contained in the pedagogical political project and in the internship regulation of their course.

The evaluation of the performance of the internship done abroad will be the responsibility of the internship coordinator of the course. This analysis must be based on the content described in the internship report, duly signed by the supervisor of the internship carried out abroad, containing the activities which were done, location, workload and frequency. The student must present this report on his return, in coherence with the course profile and the internship policy.

The result of this analysis can be: total, partial or no use.

In view of the configuration of the CsF Program and in the condition presented above (in which the student presents what he/she did on return), the presentation of the TC and PE are waived.

  • UFJ as an Internship Camp for foreign institutions

In cases when UFJ is an internship field for foreign institutions, the internship coordinator of the course must use the same TC, PE and UFJ Report templates required for UFJ students (PROGRAD website). In this case, the internship coordinator and the professor/supervisor belonging to the course/internship location to which the student is temporarily linked at UFJ, as well as the foreign student, will sign. This student must be enrolled in the corresponding internship discipline.
